  • In Preckwinkle’s defense I assume she is referring to the idea of a fast train to Ohare as being good, rather than the idea of the Block 37 boondoggle. And since she is talking at a Midwest High Speed Rail event I assume she is referring to their CrossRail Chicago plan. If not then she risks tarnishing her reputation.

  • Yeah that’s a reasonable interpretation. I went back and reread it to check. Either she knew there was no easy way to make it all work or she just assumed that once could be found. Either way she is on the hook.

    That said, as a politician I tend to trust her judgement more than most. I believe that her interests jibe with mine. Emanuel I do not trust. I’m glad that he has an understanding of transit issues, probably because he has been a transit user, but in general he serves the interests and beliefs of the corporate plutocracy.
