We’re hosting our monthly Streetsblog Chicago meetup and happy hour tomorrow, Wednesday September 7. For a change of pace, and to take advantage of the great weather, this month we'll be meeting up at City Winery's Chicago Riverwalk location, located on the south bank of the river between State and Dearborn streets (not to be confused with their Randolph Street location). Our meetups are a great opportunity to hang out and network with folks who are passionate about sustainable transportation and livable streets. Here’s the skinny:
September Streetsblog Reader Meetup Wednesday, September 7, 5:30-8 p.m. (probably somewhat later) City Winery 11 Chicago Riverwalk (between State and Dearborn), Chicago
We should be hanging out at a few high-top tables. Obviously, it's an easy spot to get to from all the 'L' lines. The closest Divvy stations are near Clark/Lake, Randolph/State, and Wacker/Wabash.
Hang out with Streetsblog’s John Greenfield and Steven Vance, as well as fellow readers — you already know each other from the comments and social media.
In addition to editing Streetsblog Chicago, John writes about transportation and other topics for additional local publications. A Chicagoan since 1989, he enjoys exploring the city on foot, bike, bus, and 'L' train.
In the short term, new signage is needed to designate legal areas for cycling on the path. In the long term CDOT should build the proposed Wacker Drive protected bike lane.
