NIMBYs win: Ald. Knudsen, CDOT have removed Dickens Greenway plaza, enabling dangerous cut-through driving in Lincoln Park again
Update 10/11/24, 3:45 PM: As of this afternoon, the Dickens Greenway plaza has been dismantled, and motorists are allowed to drive west across the formerly car-free space. Westbound bike riders are required to "share" the lane with drivers.

The 43rd Ward confirmed that, to facilitate driving, the City intends to remove the plaza that was installed only about nine months ago. Advocates say that would set a terrible precedent.
