Driver Who Crushed Bridgeport DJ’s Legs Charged With Misdemeanors
The motorist who pinned DJ and broadcaster Logan Bay against his own parked car in front of his Bridgeport home last month, leading to the partial amputation of his legs, was cited for moving violations. As Bay recovers from his injuries, family and friends are raising money to help cover his medical expenses.

Wife of Cyclist Dragged in Bridgeport Provides an Update on His Condition
Scott Jacobson continues to stoically recover from the horrific injuries he suffered after being struck on his bike and dragged hundreds of feet by a driver, according to Jacobson’s wife Rachel. Meanwhile, it remains to be seen whether the Cook County state’s attorney’s office will level more serious charges against the motorist, who so far has only been charged with misdemeanors.

Archer Avenue Motorists Upset They Can’t Drive as Fast as They Want
Some motorists are complaining about a new speed camera along the busy 3200 block of Archer Avenue in McKinley Park. The accusations of a "speed trap" focus on the camera's location, which is not immediately adjacent to the small park that, under Chicago's "safety zones" rules, justifies the camera's placement. But the camera is located in a part of Chicago where speeding is endemic and crashes are frequent.

What’s the Fastest Way Around Chicago? That Depends, Says New Map
Researchers at the MIT Media Lab published an interactive map this week that shows a new way to measure access across Chicago via different transportation modes. Instead of assessing how far one can travel by a certain mode, like a previous online map has shown, or showing the cost of travel, this map looks solely at relative travel time across four modes.

Hit-and-Run Drivers Killed Pedestrians in Englewood and Bridgeport on Friday
Last week two different people lost their lives to hit-and-run drivers, in two different South Side neighborhoods, on the same day. Both of the drivers are still at large.
