The construction on the Obama Presidential Center has impacted many different groups in many different ways, but pedestrians, bike riders, and transit rider have borne the brunt.

This was the last of a series of public meetings on a set of proposed changes in the north suburbs as part the second phase of the North Shore Coordination Plan.

The facility is open to rail and bus riders, while the old station is now closed for construction of a new north terminal.

How can we expect people to ride a bus or train during the colder months if the sidewalks that serve the stop or station are wintery wastelands?

The North Shore Coordination Plan could be a mixed bag.

The upcoming service will speed bus trips between Evanston and O'Hare.

The new multiuse path runs along the old Union Pacific Weber Spur for one mile between the city limits at Devon Avenue to Touhy Avenue by the Lincolnwood Town Center.

The North Branch Trail is a popular multi-use trail operated by the Forest Preserve District of Cook County. It runs along the North Branch of the Chicago River and the Skokie Lagoons from the Northwest Side of Chicago to the Chicago Botanic Gardens in Glencoe. The trail was recently extended four miles south from its previous southeastern terminus at Devon and Caldwell in the city’s Edgebrook neighborhood to the Irene C. Hernandez Picnic Area at Foster and Kostner, near North Mayfair. This brings the total trail length to 22 miles.

The Chicago Transit Authority is testing a prepaid boarding system during weekday rush hours at a few of its busiest stops along major routes to see if it will improve travel times.

The bike lane is part of a larger project to improve multi-modal usage of both Chicago Avenue and Sheridan Road.
