I bought my Metra monthly pass using the Ventra app and used it on the train for the first time this morning. All went smoothly. Lack of drama is a beautiful thing.

  • I bought a one-ride ticket on Friday night. Super easy. The only issue I noticed with the app was a clunky Forgot Password flow. It worked, but it definitely could’ve been more user-friendly.

Yeah, the app is just good enough, nothing groundbreaking.

  • Yeah that was awkward for me, too.

Anyone more knowledgeable or better at googling than I am: Is it possible/planned for those of us who get monthly metra passes purchased through pre-tax work programs to get delivery to phone?

  • Cameron Puetz

You could have the cost of your Metra pass loaded into your Ventra account the same way pay per ride CTA/Pace users get pre tax funds and then use those funds to buy a Metra pass. I don’t think there is a way to buy the pass automatically.
