Madigan linked to patronage hiring? Wow, that’s a shocker. ;)

The Transit Taskforce report is a very enjoyable and compelling read. While the Single Transit Agency recommendation is getting a lot of media coverage, the main message of the report is that all the recommendations have to be taken together, namely:
    1) Regain public confidence
    2) Significantly increase investment in transit
    3) Set and pursue regional priorities for transit investment

Without action on all three points, of which the revamped governance structure only deals with point 1, we won’t grow any significant economic, social, and environmental benefits from our transit system. John and Steve, please drive this point home!

  • The task force report identifies Madigan by position only, and not by name. It’s weird. They don’t name Mayor Emanuel, either, but it does refer to him.
