The area needs a land use that supports local businesses and makes the area more pedestrian- and bike-friendly, rather than an "anti-transit-oriented development" that undermine those goals.
"We also want to make sure we right-size parking because if our developers are paying for more parking spots it means less housing for folks in an ideal location," said housing chief Marisa Novara.
Who knows, with enough political support for this idea to reduce congestion and pollution and plug the budget hole, maybe we can get congestion pricing approved in the 2022 budget.
The city cleverly legalized westbound riding on this low-stress street with a block of contraflow bike lane. A couple more short stretches of contraflow further east could make Grace even more bikeable.
