    I wonder how the CTA bus crash data compares to private auto use in terms of safety.

    I was just thinking along similar lines – it’s a huge system so of course crash data is going to look massive in aggregate, but I’d bet that statistically it is still a very safe way to travel. And I know I’d sure rather be in a bus getting hit by a car than vice versa.

    Bus drivers with DUIs don’t get fired. Public unions are bankrupting the city and protecting dangerous personnel. Sad!
