  • Midway improvements. I really hope they shorten the connection from the el as well as “improve” it. The way it snakes around is really low rent. If they moved the start from the end of the platform to the middle or to the other end then it would create a more direct passage.

The problem with moving the station entrance is that an entrance further north wouldn’t have room for buses, so that would mean two entrances, both of which would have lots of traffic, so both would have to be staffed (ie couldn’t have one be unattended with the high fare gates). ie it could add a bunch of expense.

I use the passage to the L about every other month and I’ve never thought it was all that bad. It’d be good if they could straighten it out/eliminate some of the jogs (note that it just jogs, it doesn’t backtrack). More importantly, they could add some moving walkways to make it faster.

  • In particular, the part where you drag your luggage through the parking lot is both confusing and full of exhaust fumes.

  • OK so “snakes” might not be the right descriptor. But at least we are on the same page re simplifying it. And sure moving walkways but then that too could add a bunch of expense.
