Wow the south side Red Line extension sounds like a big waste of money. There are already 3-4 Metra lines surrounding and within close proximity of where the extension will be.

  • Personally, i think there is a greater need to run the red line E-W down 95th street to Cicero and then one day, go north and connect it to the orange line. 95th is shear hell to drive down. It’d be nice to provide an alternative. There are so many large employers and communities connected to 95th, as well. The CTA just can’t seem to think beyond the spoke and hub.

  • Unfortunately, Metra thinks it’s ok to run 2-hour headways most of the time, and is useless for connecting to other CTA lines to go to non-downtown destinations (or even to go to downtown jobs, if you don’t feel like walking 3/4 of a mile after you get off the train).
